Free Alcoholism Hotlines in New Mexico.

Per the November 2019 Health Notes written by the NM Legislative Finance Committee: “New Mexico has long had some of the highest rates of alcohol and drug abuse in the country, and the problem is getting worse. Since 2001, the combined rates of alcohol and drug-related deaths in New Mexico rose by more than 60 percent.” Furthermore, 29% of NM high-schoolers reported abusing alcohol over the last month.

Alcohol abuse is a prevalent issue in The Land of Enchantment, but unfortunately, it’s the same story all across America. Fortunately, however, there’s plenty of free help out there for those in need. We want to share some of these resources with you. Alcoholism is a disease, and the cure begins with helping yourself. Alcohol Awareness Hotline

The website alcoholawareness.org sponsors a 24/7 hotline that offers free help to anyone suffering from alcohol abuse. Call 855-955-0771 to be connected to a specialist who will listen and help in any way possible. The site also offers direct links to helpful resources and support groups. Their mission is to raise awareness of alcohol abuse by means of offering free help and resources. Call today.

BHSD Network of Care

The state’s Behavioral Health Services Division sponsors Network of Care, a webpage dedicated to helping residents find the help they need with alcohol/substance abuse. You may also call the BHSD directly at 505-476-9622.

New Mexico Crisis and Access Line

Funded by multiple state partners, the helpline is available 24/7 to all NM residents. Simply call 855-662-7474 to be connected with a specialist who will provide information and resources for alcohol abuse prevention, treatment, and recovery. Visit the website for more.
