In a 2018 study published by USA Today titled America’s Drunkest States, Maine ranked eleventh. According to the study, 19.6% of Maine adults reported excessive drinking in the last month. Worse yet, around 25% of residents under age 21 reported the same. An eye-opening 39.8% of in-state automobile accident deaths involve alcohol.

Sponsored by the Portland Recovery Community Center, the Hub is “an initiative that supports developing recovery community centers throughout Maine,” according to its website.
