According to a 2018 study by the CDC, Kentucky has the third-highest rate of binge drinking out of all fifty states. Add to this the approximately 60 arrests daily in-state for DUI, and clearly, Kentucky has a drinking problem. Lexington suffers worst, with nearly 20% of adults reporting excessive drinking.

It isn’t just The Bluegrass State that suffers from alcohol abuse. It’s an issue nationwide. Fortunately, there’s plenty of free help out there for those in need. KY Help Call Center

Sponsored by the Kentucky Office of Drug Control Policy, the call center is available for all state residents. Call 833-859-4357 anytime Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM to reach a specialist who will discuss treatment options and resources with you. Click here to visit the website.

Don’t let the name fool you. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is available to all US citizens and provides plenty of resources for addiction recovery. Kentucky residents can call 800-950-6264 anytime Monday through Friday, 10 AM to 6 PM, or can call 859-392-1730 anytime M-F, 10 AM to 2 PM. You’ll be connected with a specialist who will provide help.
