While 18.2% might not seem like a lot, it’s how many New York adults reported binge drinking over the last month, according to the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. That percentage shoots up to 22% when talking about Manhattan alone. Statewide, more than 30% of fatal car crashes involve alcohol.

New York HOPEline

The state’s Office of Addiction Services and Support sponsors the helpline which is available 24/7 to all residents. Call 877-846-7369 to be connected with a specialist who will guide you to the best resources available. You may also text “HELP” to 467369.

211 New York

United Way of New York has partnered with 211 to provide free support and resources to all MT residents. Simply dial 211 or text your zip code to 898211. You may also click here to visit their New York-specific website.
