Full days of treatment, nights at home in Boca Raton
Which PHP treats Boca Raton residents during the day?
Boca Raton residents in our partial hospitalization program (PHP) spend about six hours a day, on five days of the week, in treatment at our licensed Pompano Beach facility 12 miles south, then sleep at home or in sober housing.
You get the therapy, medication review and psychiatric care of a live-in stay, and you are back in Boca by late afternoon.
PHP fits you after detox or a residential stay, or as your starting point when you need more than a few hours a week.
Is a PHP in Pompano Beach right for you?
PHP is right for you if you need treatment most of the day but have a safe, sober place to sleep at night.
Signs PHP fits you:
- You finished detox or a live-in stay and want a gentler step back home
- You tried IOP and the cravings came back in the hours between sessions
- Depression or anxiety needs near-daily psychiatric contact alongside your recovery
- Home in Boca Raton is steady, or a certified sober home is ready for you
If you still need around-the-clock care, your team starts you in residential rehab for Boca Raton residents and steps you down to PHP once you are ready.
How soon can you start PHP from Boca Raton?
Within a few days of your call, and the day after detox or residential treatment ends if you are already with us.
A short phone intake comes first, then admissions checks your insurance and puts your clinical assessment on the calendar. If you need detox first, you start in detox for Boca Raton residents and move into PHP with the same team, so nothing restarts.
What does a PHP day look like?
A check-in, the main therapy group, a one-to-one session or specialty group and a medication review, and you are back on I-95 toward Boca Raton by late afternoon.
Your morning opens with a check-in group on how the night went. Next comes the main group, where you work on coping skills, relapse prevention or the reasons beneath the drinking or using. On other days you meet your therapist one to one, and further groups cover trauma, family and co-occurring conditions.
Your prescriber reviews your medication during program hours. Naltrexone, acamprosate or buprenorphine carry over from detox when they fit you, and your prescriber checks how each one sits with any antidepressant you take.
Which PHP benefits matter to Boca Raton residents?
Six Hours of PHP Treatment a Day
One-to-one therapy, groups and a medication check fill your weekday, and you are back in Boca by late afternoon.

PHP the Day After Residential Care

Which PHP commute works best from Boca Raton?

Driving to PHP on I-95
Palmetto Park Road or Glades Road to I-95 south, about 20 minutes outside rush hour.

Taking the Train to PHP
From 680 Yamato Road, Tri-Rail stops at Deerfield Beach and then Pompano Beach. Admissions plans the last leg with you.

PHP Around an FAU Semester
Palm Tran Route 94 links Florida Atlantic University with the Tri-Rail station. Your case manager sorts the school paperwork while PHP fills your weekdays.
How long is the daily PHP drive from Boca Raton?
About 20 minutes each way outside rush hour, about 12 miles south on I-95.
From the east side, Palmetto Park Road takes you to I-95. From the university district or anywhere near Glades Road, the Glades interchange is the quicker start. That drive happens five times a week, so before day one admissions maps your route from home and settles your start time.
Which train takes you to PHP from Boca Raton?
Tri-Rail. Board at the Boca Raton station on Yamato Road and ride two stops south to Pompano Beach.
You find the station at 680 Yamato Road on the west side of I-95, and riders park there for free. The train stops at Deerfield Beach and then Pompano Beach, so the ride is short enough to read a page of your workbook and no more.
If you live near the university, Palm Tran Route 94 runs between Florida Atlantic University and the station, which means you reach PHP without a car at all. Brightline also stops in Boca Raton but runs no service into Pompano Beach, so Tri-Rail is the daily train.
Which sober housing works during PHP?
A certified recovery residence near the program, arranged by your case manager when home in Boca Raton is not ready for you yet.
Florida law limits licensed treatment providers to certified recovery residences when they refer you, so any home we arrange has cleared the state’s standard. You live with others in recovery, keep house rules and a curfew, and your commute drops to minutes.
When home is ready, you move back to Boca Raton and carry on in intensive outpatient.
Which fits you better, PHP or a live-in stay?
PHP fits you better if you are medically stable and have a sober place to sleep, and a live-in stay fits if nights at home are where you use.
Both give you therapy and medication every weekday. The difference is the evening. In PHP you go home, eat dinner with your family and practise what you worked on that day. In a live-in stay, staff are with you through the night.
Your team decides with you using the ASAM criteria, the placement standard insurers use when they authorize your days.
PHP for Boca Raton Residents
Daytime treatment five days a week, home to Boca Raton each evening.
Licensed PHP Treatment Team
Therapists, a prescriber, psychiatric staff and nurses share one plan for you.
PHP Steps Down to IOP
Once you are steady, you switch to IOP in the daytime or evening track and keep the same team.
How long does PHP last before you step down?
Your intake assessment picks a starting number of weeks, and each week you and your team revisit it until IOP is the right fit.
Three things move the date: how steady your cravings are, how your mood holds, and whether home in Boca Raton is a safe place to spend the evenings. Your insurer reviews the same notes each week, and the weekly copay or coinsurance shows on your explanation of benefits, so the money side never surprises you.
When the step down comes, you keep your therapist and your prescriber. Only the hours change.
Can you keep studying at FAU during PHP?
Not on a full timetable, because PHP fills your weekday, but your case manager deals with the paperwork your school asks for and plans your return.
Florida Atlantic University teaches 29,000 students, and more than 70 percent take classes on the Boca Raton campus at 777 Glades Road. If you study there, at Lynn University or at Palm Beach State College, PHP takes the place of your classes for a few weeks. Once you step down to IOP, you fit treatment around a lighter semester.
The same goes for work. Your case manager files FMLA leave for the weeks you are in PHP, and your employer sees only the form.
Who sees you each day in PHP?
A licensed therapist, a prescriber, psychiatric staff and nurses, all working from one plan.
Your therapist leads your groups and your one-to-one sessions. Your prescriber adjusts withdrawal medication and anything for cravings, and the psychiatric staff you see through the week work to steady depression or anxiety as your recovery builds. Your case manager files your leave, finds housing if you need it and plans your step down.
How much does PHP cost for Boca Raton residents?
If you have insurance, your cost is the deductible plus a weekly share, and admissions tells you that dollar amount before your first PHP day.
Insurers treat PHP as the highest outpatient level and authorize it week by week. Florida Blue and other Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, Aetna, Cigna and UnitedHealthcare cover a fixed run of weeks and extend it as you make progress, and we send in each renewal so your PHP days run without a break.
Out of network, admissions tells you the gap in dollars. Paying for yourself? The same call gives you the self-pay price of one PHP week.
What happens after PHP for Boca Raton residents?
IOP comes next, then outpatient care, and you keep the same team and go home holding a written relapse-prevention plan.
Your days in treatment shorten as you steady: full days in PHP, three-hour days in IOP, then one or two outpatient sessions for Boca Raton residents a week. Discharge planning starts in your first week, and you finish with a place in our alumni program.
Evenings after PHP are yours to fill. Boca Raton bans alcohol at its city parks and beaches, so an early-evening walk at Spanish River Park is time spent where nobody around you drinks. Neighbors in Deerfield Beach, Delray Beach and Coral Springs find their own routes on those pages, and our main partial hospitalization program page sets out the full schedule.
Boca Raton has its own pages for dual diagnosis treatment in Boca Raton too.
