You do not have to work out what to say alone. Alcohol intervention services plan it with you and have treatment ready.

1. Be there for him

The most important thing you can do is be there for him. Listen to him and offer your support. Let him know that you love him and want to help him through this difficult time.

2. Educate yourself

educate yourself about addiction and recovery. The more you know, the better equipped you will be to help your husband. There are many great resources out there. Alcoholics Anonymous is a good place to start.

3. Attend family counseling

Family counseling can be extremely helpful for both you and your husband. It will give you the opportunity to discuss your feelings and learn how to better support each other.

4. Encourage him to get help

If your husband is willing to seek help, encourage him to do so. There are many great programs out there that can help him overcome his addiction. Alcoholics Anonymous is a good place to start.
