Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) in Pompano Beach

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) in Pompano Beach

Six hours of treatment a day, home every night

Which PHP program in Pompano Beach fits your week?

In Pompano Beach, our partial hospitalization program (PHP) fills each weekday with about 6 hours of treatment for drugs and alcohol at our licensed facility, and you go home to sleep.

If home is not ready, you sleep in a certified sober home instead. It is the most hours of care you get without living on site.

You keep your evenings and weekends, and your treatment day ends with time to cook dinner and sleep in your own bed. PHP sits in the middle of our addiction treatment in Pompano Beach, between a live-in stay and intensive outpatient.

Is a PHP program in Pompano Beach right for you?

Yes, when you have a safe, sober bed at night but need care on every weekday, or when weekly sessions no longer hold you steady.

PHP fits you when:

  • You are leaving a live-in stay and want the same intensity for a few more weeks
  • Intensive outpatient has not kept you sober, and you need more hours
  • Depression or anxiety needs close psychiatric attention alongside the addiction
  • Your home is calm, but your days are where using happens

Start with residential rehab in Pompano Beach instead when detox is still ahead of you or your evenings at home are when the drinking begins. Admissions tells you plainly which level your answers point to.

How soon can you start PHP in Pompano Beach?

Within the same week you call, and on the next weekday when you step down from our live-in program.

Over the phone, admissions takes you through a short intake assessment built on the ASAM criteria and then books your first program day. Coming from a live-in stay somewhere else, you sign a release and admissions requests those discharge notes, so your first PHP day starts where that care stopped. Should your answers point to detox first, admissions tells you right then, and a free bed means you come in the same day.

What happens during a PHP day in Pompano Beach?

You arrive in the morning, work through about 6 hours of groups, individual therapy and a medication check, and head home by late afternoon.

A check-in group opens each day and sets what you work on. The main groups cover relapse prevention, coping with cravings, and the thinking patterns that keep pulling you back. Through the week you sit one to one with your therapist and see your prescriber during the program day, so a medication change never waits for a separate appointment.

Which services does our PHP program include?

Full Treatment Days, Five a Week

About 6 hours of groups, therapy and medication review each weekday, then home by late afternoon.

Psychiatric Care Inside the PHP Day

Psychiatric staff see you nearly every program day, so a change in mood gets attention the same week.

Certified Sober Housing for PHP

When home is not ready, you live in a state-certified recovery residence while you attend.

Medication Reviewed in Program

Your prescriber checks naltrexone, acamprosate, buprenorphine or psychiatric medication during your day, not at a separate visit.

PHP Insurance Authorized by the Week

We file each weekly authorization, and admissions tells you your daily share up front.

PHP Commute From Lighthouse Point

East Sample Road to Federal Highway takes about 10 minutes. The route stays the same five days a week.

How long is the daily drive to PHP?

About 15 minutes from Palm Aire, about 10 minutes from Lighthouse Point, and less from the east side of the city, outside rush hour.

From Palm Aire you take Pompano Parkway to Atlantic Boulevard and ride it east. From Lighthouse Point, East Sample Road to Federal Highway brings you south. Making the trip five times a week adds up, so admissions works out your route with you before your first day. If someone drops you off, your program day ends at the same time each afternoon, which makes pickup easy to plan.

If you do not drive yet, the city’s free community shuttle runs every hour on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with no fare inside city limits, and links to BCT buses. Coming from farther off, Tri-Rail stops at the Pompano Beach station on 3301 NW 8th Avenue.

Can you stay in certified sober housing during PHP?

Yes. Until home is ready for you, we place you in a certified sober home, and you attend PHP from there each weekday.

Under Florida law, a licensed provider refers you only to certified recovery residences, which means your house meets the state’s rules on safety and house standards. You share a home with others in recovery and come to the program each morning.

When your team clears you, you move back home and carry on in intensive outpatient care.

Is PHP or residential rehab better for you?

Residential is better when you need care through the night. PHP is better when you need the same daytime therapy and can sleep somewhere safe.

The therapy hours are close. The evenings are where they differ: PHP sends you home to try out the day’s lessons, and you bring what happened back to group the next morning. You can start in a live-in bed and step down to PHP without changing teams. Our partial hospitalization program page compares the levels side by side.

Which mental health conditions does PHP treat?

Depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD and bipolar disorder, treated in the same program day as the drinking or drug use.

PHP is where a co-occurring condition gets daily attention, because psychiatric staff see you nearly every program day. The NIAAA guide to treatment for alcohol problems names depressive and anxiety disorders among the conditions that most commonly travel with alcohol use disorder. If yours runs deeper, our dual diagnosis program builds the plan around both.

Licensed Day Treatment Program

Our licensed team runs every PHP group and session.

PHP for Mental Health and Addiction

Your team treats depression, anxiety and trauma in the same day as the drinking.

PHP Start Within the Week

Admissions books your first day of PHP while you are still on the phone.

Which medications can you take during PHP?

Naltrexone or acamprosate for alcohol cravings, buprenorphine for opioids, and psychiatric medication, each when your prescriber decides it fits.

Anything you started in detox or a live-in stay carries straight on. If you take medication for sleep or anxiety, your prescriber reviews it in your first week. Your prescriber reviews it during the program day, so dose changes happen in the room with you, not over the phone.

Who treats you in a PHP program?

Nurses, psychiatric staff, a prescriber, a licensed therapist and a case manager make up your PHP team, and they all work from one plan.

Your therapist runs your one-to-one sessions and several of your groups. Nurses check on you through the day. Outside the program, your case manager speaks to your employer, fills in your leave forms, arranges sober housing and times your move down to IOP.

How long does a PHP program last?

The intake assessment fixes how long you start with, and you and your team revisit that length each week.

Every week your team compares your progress with your plan and pulls your step-down date forward or pushes it back. Your insurer approves PHP a week at a time, and when you need longer we request the extra weeks.

Does insurance cover PHP in Pompano Beach?

Yes. Florida Blue and other Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, Aetna, Cigna and UnitedHealthcare cover partial hospitalization when your plan includes behavioral health benefits.

Your cost is your deductible, then your copay or coinsurance per program day, and it drops if we are in-network with your plan. Admissions runs the verification at no cost on the first call and gives you the figure before you start. No insurance? Admissions quotes the self-pay rate during that same call.

What happens after PHP in Pompano Beach?

Intensive outpatient comes next, then outpatient care, all with the same team, and your place in our alumni program stays open.

In your final PHP week, your therapist books your IOP track, your prescriber confirms which medication carries on, and you take home a written relapse-prevention plan.

Plan your weekends too. City lifeguards watch the public beach from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., and an evening show at the 336-seat theater in the Pompano Beach Cultural Center gives you a night out with a set end time. The city’s Herb Skolnick Community Center and its other recreation centers fill a weeknight with something other than a bar stool.
