The alcohol-related death rate in South Dakota has more than doubled since 2011, per the state’s own Department of Health. Currently, the crude rate for alcohol-related deaths is 17.4 per 100,000 compared to the national average of 9.9 per 100,000. This places SD as the state with the sixth-highest rate in the nation.

Behavioral Health Services (BHS)

Since 1974, the Helpline Center has been available for SD residents to get free help and resources regarding any type of mental or behavioral disorder.
